Background: I come from a very broad background, which touches base with several aspects of the agriculture industry. Alongside my father and grandfather The Olson Ranch operates a 1,500 head feedlot and runs about 350 head of cows. The Olson family also raises and sells club calves annually at the fall sale. To meet the feeding demands of the feedlot cattle and cow herd I play a large role in the production and harvesting of several grains and forages. I am also employed at the SDSU Meat Lab.

Hi my name is Colin Taylor I am a junior majoring in Ag Engineering. I’m from Estelline, SD where my family raises registered Hampshire sheep and quarter horses. My hobbies are centered on hunting and fishing.

My name is Dan Fehrman and I am a sophomore Animal Science major from Lake Benton, Minnesota.  I am the VNR Scholastics Chair at Alpha Gamma Rho.  In college I am involved in Block and Bridle and Little International.  Outside of school I am involved with the Minnesota Red Angus Association, showing cattle, hunting, fishing, and farming with my dad.

I am a freshman Animal Science major from Hinton Iowa.  I live on our family farming operation which consists of cow calf, feedlot, and about 1600 acres of crop ground.  I enjoy hunting and being outdoors in my free time.

I’m Derek Little and I’m a junior at SDSU majoring in agriculture economics from Dundas, MN.  I’m involved with the AGR steer show committee serving as both co-chair and assistant for the past 3 years.  I grew up on a dairy farm outside Dundas/Northfield, MN but for the last 10 years have been turned into a beef and sheep farm.  My hobbies include: hunting, fishing, sports, and showing livestock.

I am Isaac Dahlman form Cokato, MN where I live on a farm with my parents Craig and Lori Dahlman.  I am a freshman Ag Systems Technology major.  After college I plan to go back home and begin farming with my Dad.

I am the current Noble Ruler of the Alpha Phi Chapter of Alpha Gamma Rho.  I am an Agricultural Business Major, originally from Gann Valley, SD.  I am a certified auctioneer, a ranch hand, and upon graduation, I plan to return to my family’s ranch and continue working, hopefully to one day become a partner in the corporation.  I would also like to continue auctioneering some.

I am a sophomore, animal science major and Ag marketing minor. I am from Rapid City, South Dakota. I am the third generation to attend SDSU and want to run a registered Angus cattle ranch after college.

I am a sophomore Ag Education Major from Beardsley, MN. I was involved in 4-H and enjoyed showing livestock. I have shown lambs, pig, cattle, and meat goats. I also like building, snowmobiling, and 4 wheeling.

I’m a 2008 graduate of Blooming Prairie High School and past Minnesota State FFA Officer as well as the 2008 Minnesota State Star Farmer.  I’m currently an Agronomy Major and I plan to graduate May 2012.  On campus, I am active with Agronomy Club, Prexy Council, and I serve as a Student Association Senator for the college of Agriculture and Biological Sciences.   My hobbies are farming and auctioneering.

I’m an Animal Science major in my first year at South Dakota State.  I grew up on a small farm south of Sanborn Minnesota, where my dad and I raise purebred Southdowns and Suffolks as well as some show lambs.  I spend much of my time working sheep or showing them through 4-H and FFA.  I also have a strong interest in livestock judging.  When I was on the 4-H team I had the opportunity to judge at Louisville, Denver, and Kansas City.

I am an Ag Business major with an Ag Marketing minor.  I am from LeMars, Iowa.  I will graduate in May of 2010.  Someday I hope to return back home to the family farm.

I enjoy my life in AGR in the past three years; it was a great experience living with a lot different brothers. AGR is a great place to build friendship and lean about a lot things in life, in the past three years, we had a lot fun together, we had a lot pressure together, and we had a lot memory together. Be an AGR is my most valuable experience so far, I think anyone who is eligible should come to join us, and try to live in the house as long as you can.

My major is Construction Management but don’t hold that against me, I have a lot of agriculture in me.  I grew up on a farm two mile east of Jasper, Minnesota.   My family use to milk cows, but now we just raise Holstein dairy calves and farm around 4 hundred acres of land.  And something interesting about me would have to be that I have had 6 different set of stitches and no broken bones.

My name is Scott Wagner.  I am a junior from the one and only Primghar, Iowa and am an Animal Science major.  My parents are Jim and Mimi Wagner.  Some of my interests include sports, socializing, fishing, and Twins Baseball.

I am a Junior animal science major/Ag marketing minor from Watkins, Minnesota.  My family feeds out about 600 head of Holstein steers and runs 500 acres of corn, soybeans, and hay.  In addition, I have a small flock of Hampshire/Suffolk club lambs as well as a few head of Maine Anjou heifers.
